Epic Fantasy
I am V. M. DarkAngelo, author and creator of the world you’ve just stepped into:
The Children of Forever
This is where your journey begins, and I step aside so that you may enjoy it in all its gloriously mythic splendor.
Is a universe shaped by the bounds of two powerful ancient bloodlines. Steeped in magic as old as time.
They are eternally at odds, sitting on the edge of a war that, once started, will destroy not only their world but the human world as well.
They are:
The Immura & The Sioria
Thousands of years ago, they were one bloodline, ancient and powerful. Who drew their power from the crystalline center of the earth.
As humans began to spread out and dominate the earth, the Ancients fought among themselves over how to handle human encroachment.
The Immura turned inward, choosing purity in a militaristic fashion. Giving rise to their soldiers, the Shya, whose very identity is marked along their spines.
The Sioria stepped out, and chose to live alongside the humans. Gently guarding their secrets while seeding them throughout the human world. Growing and weaving their power within families and generations of ordinary lives.
Two lineages born of the same origin.
Two paths shaped by fear, love, and legacy.
One magical universe:
Children of Forever.
The Immura carry a deep, ancient hatred of humans, what started as fear sharpened into disdain. This created a tension that places enormous pressure on the uneasy peace between themselves and the Sioria.
Within their ranks exists a class of soldiers known as the Shya.
Born marked for the role they must serve, further bound by an oath, the Shya are raised to protect the Immura from every threat, both human and Sioria. And they are prepared for a war that if sparked, would destroy them all, human and the near-immortal.
Their elemental magic, touted as a gift, celebrated as the pinnacle of their species, is a burden of birth, marked along their spines.
Every sigil is a bond to the elemental forces that rule their world. Their connection to the earth and the crystal, the A’Ten.
Every ritual that recalibrates their power, called The Tuning, is a renewed promise and a binding to their destiny.
In spite of their circumstances, every Shya and their team is fighting to become more than what the world demands of them.
If you’re drawn to stories that feel ancient yet grounded in modern technology, then welcome! You are home.

But every world has its shadows.
Where Ereya stands at the threshold, another Shya has already fallen.
Read Case Study #3: The TorTalon File on Ream — a glimpse into what happens when their world asks too much of them.
Free Short Story:
Bright‑eyed and freshly released from the Academy, Ereya and her team step into their first mission with an energy as electric as she is. This is what they’ve been training for: the chance to prove themselves and to finally step into the stories they grew up idolizing.
Unfortunately, the world beyond the Academy walls isn’t built on ideals. It’s built on systems and unspoken rules. Out here, the work is messier. The stakes are real. And the legends they grew up admiring look very different when you’re the one expected to live up to them.
As the team takes their first step into the field, they begin to learn what every Shya eventually does: that becoming legendary depends on someone else’s definition of strength, of what is right and wrong. And the dirty secrets that their society is actually built upon.
This is the beginning of their story.

RynRaven – Coming Soon, Get on the List to be the First to Know
Nina RynRaven has spent five years pretending to be a normal human woman.
But she is neither normal, nor human.
An elite soldier, born and raised to protect the status quo of a society that depends on remaining in the shadows, hidden from the human world they hate. She is a specially trained assassin with a destiny she was literally, not figuratively, born to fulfill. Marked from birth to follow a specific path. She dropped everything and walked away from it all. Her power, her team, and everything she had ever known to live within the human world.
Now she’s playing house with her human boyfriend, in her human house with her human neighbors. But now, five years into it, things seem . . . off. And she’s trained to notice when things seem off. So why and for how long can she go on pretending she doesn’t see?
David, the leader of Nina’s team, has spent those same five years drowning in whiskey and reports of the dead. Born within days of Nina and raised to protect Nina no matter the cost, has been adrift since the day she left them. But the missing ones, the gutted ones… they’re getting too close. And Nina isn’t ready. If she won’t return to her purpose willingly, he and her team may have to drag her.
Michael, an old enemy of Nina’s. A misunderstood genius or simply a raging narcissist is certain of one thing: he wants Nina. So obsessively, even a Faustian bargain appears perfectly reasonable if it means possessing her.
But not one of them is prepared for what’s rising.
From deep below, an ancient evil has awakened, hungry to devour the world. And the only thing standing between humanity an annihilation depends on getting Nina ready to fight.
If they can’t get her to commit, she will die and the world will burn.
RynRaven coming soon, get on the list and be the first to know.

Case Study #3, The TorTalon File
A routine mission. A catastrophic mental break. A Shya out of control—
or an opportunity to learn what really happened.
Amanda TorTalon is an elite supernatural soldier, born and engineered for a war that never arrives. But when a mission goes horrifically wrong, she narrowly avoids forced “retirement,” saved only by one inconvenient fact:
She remembers nothing.
Her mind is a blank slate. Her power is not.
Assigned to her case is Dr. Lena Monroe, a human psychologist tasked with coaxing Amanda’s memories back into the light—memories the Council will use to decide whether she’s worth saving… or should be quietly erased.
But as Amanda’s past begins to surface, one truth becomes impossible to ignore:
The mission didn’t break her.
Something else did.
And the Council is terrified she’ll remember what it was.
